This museum is housed in the former residence of Presidents J.H.Brand, F.W.Reitz and M.T.Steyn and can be regarded as the Free State’s own castle. It contains a wealth of items of cultural and historical value. This museum is furnished to reflect the lifestyle and household customs of the presidents of the former Orange Free State Republic (1886-1900). It bears witness of the elegance and style of times gone by.
This museum was opened on 23 February 1985.
